1. Information we collect
By registering on www.cars.mt, you consent to our collecting personal data such as your name, email address and similar account details. When you add a listing, we also collect data such as your contact number, which is shown to other users so they can reach you about it. You may optionally provide additional details such as an address or website. You can also browse and use much of www.cars.mt without providing any personal information at all, and you can delete your account and its data at any time from your account dashboard once logged in.
2. Signing in with Google or Apple
If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple instead of creating a password, we receive your name, your verified email address, and a unique identifier for your account from that provider — nothing else. We don't request access to your contacts, photos, calendar, or anything else from your Google or Apple account.
3. Payments
Paid features (Dealer Pro, featured listings, an extra listing slot, or Directory Spotlight) are billed through our payment provider, RevenueCat, on top of Stripe (web), Apple's App Store, or Google Play, depending on how you purchase. We don't receive, process or store your card details on our own systems — payment data is handled entirely by those providers' own secure systems.
4. Vehicle history report links
If you click through to a third-party vehicle history check service such as carVertical, that service's own privacy policy governs any information you give them directly — we don't see or store it. We may receive confirmation that a purchase was made through a link on our site (so we can track our own referral commission), but not your payment or personal details from that transaction.
5. Our own analytics
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies, Google Analytics, or Google AdSense — see our Cookie Policy for the one cookie we do set (a strictly necessary login/session cookie). To understand how the site is used, we log basic, anonymous visit data on our own server — which pages get viewed, roughly how visitors arrived, what kind of device and browser was used, and which country a visit came from. This never includes your IP address, your exact browser version, or any identifier that could tie two visits back to the same person.
We also use Google Search Console to see aggregate, anonymous data about how www.cars.mt appears in Google Search (such as which search terms lead to the site) — this is Google's own aggregate reporting about the site as a whole, not data we collect about you individually.
6. Push notifications
If you choose to turn on notifications (for example, a reminder before one of your listings expires), your browser or device registers a notification token with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which we use to deliver that notification. This is entirely optional and off until you grant permission — you can turn it off at any time from the Settings menu on the site, which stops us sending to that device. Firebase only ever sees the token needed to deliver a message, not your account details.
7. We don't sell your data
www.cars.mt does not sell your personal information to anyone, for any purpose. We take reasonable security measures to protect your personal information when you register, add a listing, or make a purchase.

9. Changes to this policy
We may change this policy from time to time. If there are material changes, we'll announce this on our homepage and other key pages, and — where changes affect how we use your personally identifiable information — notify affected users directly. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We'd advise re-reading this page periodically.
