1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing and using www.cars.mt, you accept and agree to be bound by this agreement. Any use of the service constitutes acceptance — if you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. What www.cars.mt is
www.cars.mt is an online marketplace that lets users publish and browse listings for vehicles, vehicle parts and accessories, and services, in Malta and Gozo, and read motoring news and guides. www.cars.mt and its original content, features and functionality are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.
3. Accounts and signing in
You can create an account with a username and password, or sign in using a third-party provider (Google or Apple). If you sign in with Google or Apple, you authorise us to receive your name and verified email address from that provider to create and identify your account — see our Privacy Policy for exactly what's received. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Please don't create more than one account per person.
4. Listings
By publishing a listing, you agree to:
- only publish information and photos that are accurate and genuinely represent the vehicle, part, accessory or service being advertised;
- post no more than one listing for the same item;
- only use photos of the actual item being sold — not unrelated private logos or stock images;
- not post links, references or logos of other vehicle marketplaces within your listing or elsewhere on www.cars.mt;
- not send or distribute unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material;
- not insult or abuse other users, directly or indirectly.
A private seller may have a limited number of live vehicle and parts/accessories listings at any time; dealers on a paid Dealer Pro plan are not subject to this limit. A listing stays live for 60 days from the date it's posted or last renewed, after which it's automatically marked as expired — you can relist it at any time from your account. We may change these limits or the listing lifetime with notice on this page.
5. Paid features
Core use of www.cars.mt — browsing, publishing listings, messaging, and a dealer's own branded page — is free. The following optional features attract a fee, billed through our payment provider, RevenueCat, on top of Stripe (web), Apple's App Store, or Google Play, depending on how you purchase:
- Dealer Pro — a paid subscription (monthly or annual) that removes the live-listing limit for a dealer account and adds extra dealer-page features. A dealer page itself is free without it.
- Featured listings — a one-time purchase that boosts a listing to the top of search results and category pages for 7 or 30 days.
- An extra vehicle listing slot — a one-time purchase that raises a private seller's live vehicle-listing limit by one, for 60 days.
- Directory Spotlight — a paid subscription (monthly or annual) that highlights a claimed business in our dealer directory.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Amounts paid for any paid feature are non-refundable except as set out in our Refund Policy.
6. The dealer directory
Our dealer directory lists automotive businesses in Malta and Gozo. Some entries are added by us or by the business itself; others are imported as draft listings from public sources (such as OpenStreetMap) and reviewed before publishing. If you own or run a business listed in our directory, you can claim and edit your own entry, or ask us to correct or remove it, by contacting us.
7. Vehicle history reports and other third-party services
We may show links, promotions or integrations for third-party services relevant to buying or selling a vehicle — for example, vehicle history check reports from carVertical. These services are provided entirely by the third party, not by us: we have no control over, and no responsibility for, their pricing, availability, or the accuracy of any report or service they provide. Any purchase you make through such a link is a contract between you and that third party, governed by their own terms and privacy policy, not ours. We may receive a referral fee when you purchase through a link shown on www.cars.mt.
8. Other third-party links
www.cars.mt may contain links to other websites and online resources that we don't own or control. We're not responsible for the content or practices of those sites — please read their own terms and privacy policy before using them.
9. Notifications
You can choose to receive push notifications from us (for example, a reminder before one of your listings expires). This is entirely optional, off by default until you grant permission, and you can turn it off at any time from the Settings menu on the site — declining or disabling notifications never affects your ability to use www.cars.mt.
10. Liability
www.cars.mt is provided "as is." We're not responsible or liable for the accuracy, usefulness or availability of information published by other users, and we can't guarantee the identity of anyone you contact through the site. We have no responsibility:
- if the service does not meet your requirements or expectations;
- for the correctness, timeliness or security of communications or content posted by users;
- if the site is not continuously available or is affected by technical problems;
- for lost profits or damages resulting from use of the site.
11. Termination
We may terminate your access to www.cars.mt, without cause or notice, which may result in the removal of information associated with your account. Provisions of this agreement that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability — continue to apply.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms from time to time. If there are material changes, we'll announce this on our homepage and other key pages, and — where changes affect how we use your personally identifiable information — notify affected users directly. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We'd advise re-reading this page periodically.
