Deposit, excess and rules at Carwiz Malta
- Deposit
- Depends on the rental price, car category and cover you choose; held on a credit card.
- Insurance excess
- With CDW, €1,350 for mini and economy cars (more for bigger groups). CDW+ lowers it to €500; SCDW lowers body-damage excess to zero.
- Debit card for the deposit
- They ask for a credit card (Visa or Mastercard) and don't accept prepaid cards, Visa Electron or Maestro.
- Taking the car to Gozo
- Allowed, with a fee. Allowed if you tell them, for a €30 fee.
- Driver age
- 21 for mini to intermediate cars and 25 for bigger groups, with a licence held for a year. Under-25s and over-70s pay €10 a day.
- Fuel policy
- Full to full. Missing fuel is charged at €2.70 a litre plus a €40 refuelling charge.
- Pick-up and delivery
- Delivery and collection: €75 on Malta (both ways, 10:00–18:00), €150 on Gozo.
- Not covered by the insurance
- Wheels, undercarriage and glass are covered only with their optional WUG package.
